Twitter Wine Reviews - July 2010

The Twitter Wine Review Social Experiment. I never understood wine reviews, the classy ones. Sure - 3 stars, 4 stars, but when they got to acidic bouquets and well textured noses. They lost me. Here's a social trend: man-in-the-street wine reviews, from someone who knows what he likes, probably knows what others would like, but refuses to hoighty toighty it up.

Enjoy!

My Twitter Wine Review List for July 2010:

2009 Boekenhoutskloof The Wolftrap Syrah Mourvedre Vognier. Plump mulberry hidden inside smelly socks. Raspberry. Mint. So nice. 7/10.

About to open a Six Tonner Merlot. Hope the name doesn't describe the resultant head condition. (FOLLOW UP REVIEW: 2008 Darling Cellars Six Tonner Merlot. It's like sticking your tongue in fresh soil and finding a mulberry. Unusually pleasant. 7/10.)

2007 Glen Carlou Cabernet Sauvignon. Different. Like an orchard of citrus stuff. Fruity as the Gay Pride festival. 7/10.

2007 Cloof. The Very Sexy Shiraz. Bit of a Fanta Grape nose but reasonably sexy. 6/10.

2008 Delheim Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz. Leathery on the sniff. Full, rich flavour. Heavy Chef wine. Shuper. 8/10.
