ANC Youth League to shut down Twitter...

I know we shouldn't laugh at ignorance. But hell's teeth chaps, if you're going to put out a press release, make sure you can back up your militant action. This is just crazy. Amusing crazy.

Here's the official press release. Yes, you heard right, official. Floyd, you're a wombat.

ANC YOUTH LEAGUE CONCERNED BY CRETATION OF FAKE TWITTER ACCOUNTS IN THE NAME OF ANC YOUTH LEAGUE PRESIDENT JULIUS MALEMA:

03 November 2010

The ANC Youth League is concerned by the continuous creation of fake Twitter accounts in the name of ANC Youth League President Julius Malema. There are computer hackers who have created twitter accounts in the name of the President and recurrently posting misleading messages.

The ANC YL has in more than one occasion reported these impersonators and hackers, yet no action has been taken against them by the twitter administrators. We will now approach the relevant authorities to report these hackers and call for the closer of twitter if its administrators are not able to administer reports for violation of basic human rights and integrity.

Those who are hacking systems and impersonating the ANC YL leadership should immediately stop doing so because the laws of this country will come very hard on them.

  3. From my Twitter Posts:

    #News | ROTFFLMFAO, I finally read the #ANCYL #Twitter #Julius press release... lawdy, I don't know where to start!?...

OK, first off, I take it they learned everything they know about hacking from the movies?

OK, second: Comparing opening a twitter account to hacking is like comparing monkeys to politicians... Oh, wait!...

OK, that last post was a little harsh - I really meant no disrespect to monkeys!

OK, third: Nah... On second thoughts, I don't think I'd like the hard law coming on me. :-/

  5. Once again our leaders have stood up and said something so ignorant! the current motto "Proudly South African" leaves a lot to be desired. They seriously need to research or think before they open a can of worms, making the rest of the country look like complete idiot.

Lighter note, died with laughter when i heard this on 702 last night..
